Research Week 2025: Showcasing Collaboration and Innovation

In late 2025, the St Vincent’s Sydney Health Innovation Precinct, including St Vincent’s AMR hosted Research Week, a five-day program designed to highlight the depth and diversity of research across the Precinct. With more than 600 attendees across 16 events, the event provided a valuable platform for knowledge sharing, skill development, and collaboration.

The program featured a range of activities, including the Research Symposium, Clinical Research Education Day, and the Allied Health and Nursing Research Showcase, alongside interactive competitions such as Research Rumble and Fast Forwards. The broad program encouraged discussion on emerging research, practical applications, and future directions in healthcare.

Key highlights included:

  • Dr Jean-Frédéric Levesque, Deputy Secretary at NSW Health, joined as guest judge for the Research Rumble competition.
  • Introduction of the Precinct Collaboration Prize, recognising projects that span multiple partner organisations.
  • Workshops and Panel discussions on AI in healthcare, science communication skills, and research with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, reinforcing the Precinct’s commitment to inclusive and impactful research.

Research Week was only made possible through the collaboration of many staff across the Precinct Partner organisations – including St Vincent’s AMR, St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney, Garvan Institute of Medical Research, Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute, UNSW Sydney, ACU, and the Nursing Research Institute – with support from NSW Health.
