Bio

Dr Shampa Sinha is a palliative care physician whose work focuses on the intersection of geriatrics and palliative care, particularly in the outpatient setting. As a 2023 Churchill Fellow, she examined innovative international models of geriatric palliative care and joined the WHO Working Group on the Quality of Dying. Her other research interests include developing and evaluating supportive care models for patients waitlisted for heart and lung transplantation and those experiencing post transplant complications.
Dr Sinha previously worked as a public health and evaluation specialist with the World Bank and as a diplomat for the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. She holds a degree in public policy from Princeton University, where she was a Sasakawa Young Leader Fellowship recipient, and maintains an active interest in health policy reform through roles on multiple Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) committees. As a member of the RACP Curriculum Review Group, she helped design the new curriculum for palliative medicine trainees and is committed to improving palliative care education for medical students and clinicians.
