Bio
Associate Professor Davinia Seah is a palliative care clinician–researcher whose work centres on improving the design, delivery, and evaluation of palliative and end-of-life care within complex health systems. Her PhD in health services research focuses on understanding how models of care, organisational structures, and resource allocation influence patient outcomes and experiences in palliative care. Through mixed-methods approaches, she examines service utilisation patterns, unmet needs, and system-level drivers that shape equitable access to high-quality care. Her work contributes to a growing evidence base that informs policy, service planning, and the integration of palliative care across diverse clinical settings.
At St Vincent’s Hospital, A/Prof Seah is actively involved in advancing research and clinical innovation in palliative care. She collaborates closely with multidisciplinary teams to translate research findings into sustainable service improvements, strengthening continuity of care for patients with life-limiting illness. Her program of work supports St Vincent’s longstanding commitment to compassionate, patient-centred care, while also addressing contemporary challenges in palliative care delivery. Through her research, clinical engagement, and leadership, A/Prof Seah is helping shape the future of palliative care services in Australia.
